About Us
Rotary club membership represents a cross-section of the community's business and professional men and women. The world's Rotary clubs meet weekly and are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.
About Royal City Rotary About the Rotary Club of Burnaby We are a group of about 60 members who meet for lunch each Friday in Burnaby. We are one of the more senior clubs in the district but we have many fresh, new programs accomplished by our members who are all young at heart. Chartered in 1947 - our club prides itself in making a real difference in our area and our world. Opened in late 1998, Monarch Place became New Westminster's first transition house for women and children fleeing violence. Monarch Place marked its ninth anniversary on Dec 1, 2007, and has been a Partner of "To the Heart of the Matter" since it first was held in February 1999.
